My poor Texas baby...

We have this book. Lucy was looking at it this morning and pipes up with, "Oh no!! Mommy, the dog is going to get a sticksker!!" ( a sticker). Poor child doesn't know what real grass is and thinks anyone kneeling on the ground, especially if they aren't wearing pants, will get stickers in their knees.

She never ceases to amaze....

A new IHOP opened in our neck of the woods. The kids were great at Mass so Chris told them we would go out. We have our drinks and are waiting for our food. Everything is going well until I look next to me at what Lucy is doing and I see this (look carefully):

Darling Lucy speared her full cup of milk with her fork. Chris asked me why she had a fork. "Um, so she could eat!"

Catholic Humor

We had the Blessing of the Throat yesterday at church after Mass. I went up with my purse over my shoulder, Tristan on one hip and Lucy's doll (a Bitty Baby) tucked under my arm.

Fr blesses Tristan: Per intercessionem Sancti Blasii.....

Fr blesses me: Per intercessionem Sancti Blasii.....

Fr starts to bless Bitty Baby: Per..oh! not that one!

Overheard in an air traffic control tower

12 year old looking at blips on radar screen: Does something tell you what kind of plane it is?

Air Traffic Controller: yes, there is a combination that tells us that

12 year old: I thought so. So where it says C-17 (points to spot on screen) is that C-17 right there (points to shadow in cloud outside tower window)

ATC looks at screen, looks out window, looks at screen again and then back at window and confirms that "yes, that is the plane" but no one really sees anything until this:

popped out of the clouds right in front of them.

Ian identified the plane, inside cloud cover and matched it to the blip on the radar screen. Pretty cool!!

San Antonio VBAC article

I was thrilled to see this piece in the San Antonio Express News today. The doctor mentioned in the article is in the same practice with my OB. The women of SA are lucky to have these two docs along with one or two others in town who will still do VBAC's. I have had more than one friend tell me that her doctor told her that there were NO doctors in SA doing VBAC's. Hopefully this article will lead more women to pro-VBAC physicans and midwives.
